Well the recent snows inticed me into a trip to DCHS today. A wonderful covering of the white stuff up in the Bowen Ranch area as I made my way to where I park at around 10:30 AM. There was no snow at DCHS, and none to be seen either from the hotpools area. I had a great soak, being the only person there today :-) I put ten photos from my hike today at my Flickr photo site Wizardsburningman:

Check out the photo of the snow as I was driving in, then look at the photo next to it which was taken near the Womb, looking north in the directions of the Bowen Ranch Trail going up the hill. My wife had a hard time believing that I took both of those photos today. The distance between the locations of each shot is maybe two miles as the crow flies, and the one of snow was taken at around 10:30 Am, then the one taken at DCHS was taken around 2PM. I hiked down in some calf high water proof boots I have since I was hiking in the snow and muddy conditions. I crossed the creek with no problem on the rocks just upstream from the Arizona Pool. A fine soak it was :-) I think of it as my early birthday present, since I'm turning 50 in six days :-) The photos are the top ones at the Flickr site, and are marked ( 1-25 ).
