OHH! and Paul,
Some after thoughts, "Has anything changed?' You asked.
This is what I have seen. The water flow in this canyon has slowly been going down as Lake Mead water levels have gone down also. The upper water source that used to provide hikers a steady creek of water before getting to the pools has almost compltely dried up. True the huge boulder on top of this source has shifted down hill also. At least a foot. I still visit this source pool almost every time I go to this canyon. Do not let it up set you, I pray there for some reason ,-)
Also, last week some body went through the canyon with a can of bright orange paint and put big arrows at the places some people get lost at and at some places totally unnessesarily. Completely
UGLY and UNNATURAL. I might have it fixed before long however.
And to finish, The temp in the big pool was 79.8 the lowest reading there ever. The upper source pool , (the pool I last saw you at) was 105.4 degrees. Much warmer than usual.
And did you notice?, some body got the grafetti on the rock in Deep Creek valley below the trail covered ? At least it is not noticed from the trail. New years week end I was there and I talked to a regular who said he had covered it with gray paint to keep the bandits from having any glory from their dasterdly deed.

Ask NOT what your hot spring can do for you , ask what you can do for your hot spring !
