The USFS and USFWS have prohibited cattle grazing in Deep Creek. The area is no longer part of the Round Mountain Grazing allotment. Any cattle sighted down there should be reported to the USFS/BLM and the leasee has a very limited amount of time to remove them. The poor condition of the fences are a major concern of neighboring property owners as well. The lease holder hasn't done any maintaience work as far as I can tell.
The BLM is reqired to give notification to interested parties prior to the release of cattle upon the range.This includes several property owners up here who neighbor the BLM managed lands. If anyone sees cattle in Deep Creek Canyon,please contact the USFS and post the time,date and location, along with the number of cattle here on this website.
