Local property owners and residents in the Deep Creek/Juniper Flats area are expressing strong support for Ord 3973.
This ordinance is fair and balanced as it does not prevent property owners from riding on thier own land as long as they are not creating a nuisance regardless of lot size. Groups of 10 or more riders must obtain a special use permit due to the high impact of several riders using a property for OHV recreation upon the surrounding neighborhood.
In Orange County, where "Big Ed" resides, the use of an OHV on private property is not permitted by law. San Bernardino County residents and land owners are fed up with trespassing OHV riders tearing up thier private properties and neighborhoods. This ordinance encourages the responsible use of OHVs by holding vehicle operators accountable for their actions.
What has got the irresponsible OHV crowd hoppin mad is the requirement that an OHV rider must carry wrirtten permission to ride on property they do not own when the owner is not present.
Tough $hit aint it!
