So far this year, The National Forest Service has implemented ORV closures on over 300 miles of routes. The reasons for closure include environmental problems such as soil erosion, destruction of native plants, invasion of noxious weeds, destruction of riparian habitat, and harassment of wildlife. Other reasons they cited for ORV closures include trespass onto adjacent private lands, creation of illegal trails, and huge increases in ORV accidents and fatalities.
Many more miles of existing ORV routes in National Forests will be closed this year. The beauty of this is that Dan and his cronies cannot do a darn thing about it.
