Thanks for the link, Rick. I've seen that map before. About 10 years ago, I was up there helping out with a club ride, but I didn't get very far from the Pinnacles Staging area. Someday, perhaps I'll get to go again when I can venture farther from Pinnacles Staging area. I have a few friends who ride in the Deep Creek area sometimes. Maybe I'll get them to show me around.
I've seen the WEMO map of Juniper Flats. I realize you didn't link to that one intentionally. I'm sure you really would rather no one rode in Juniper Flats. But keep in mind that routes from the Oak Hills and Hesperia areas were there long before most of the residents, and there is a vested interest in keeping some legal trails open, as much as you might like to close them all.
I'm really not a supporter of illegal riding, nor of riding near homes even if it's legal (despite what Dave may have told you, he likes to put words into my mouth and paint his own picture of me to those I don't already know). I've always been pretty good at placing myself in the position of someone else and gauging whether I would want the treatment they get from me. Therefore, I'm very sensitive to the rights of homeowners to live where it's relatively bother-free. Doesn't mean anyone has a right to complete silence, but seems most Juniper Flats residents seem to be at least a little bit tolerant, from what I've read here.
Unfortunately, some listen a little too much to Dave's caricatures of what the typical OHV rider is like. Don't buy Dave's words at face value any more than you would buy mine. I realize we are on the opposite side of the fence on some issues, but that doesn't make me a bad guy. I'm not the least bit the way Dave characterizes me.
