Thank you for a FANTASTIC response Wizard. It seems that you have quite a way with words. Almost as if they were like "music to calm the savage beast" and as a genuine compliment to you, they worked on me. :-)

There may be doubters out there, but I have never cut a wire, lock, pulled fence posts, or willfully/knowingly trespassed or knowingly rode off of a designated trail in a limited use area since I moved here over 20 years ago. What I have said here, as I said before, was nothing more than my lashing out and posturing at a group I don't understand and have met much resistance in attempting to understand. I feel I have a better understanding of you, however Dave leaves me somewhat confused. On one hand he encourages responsible use and then turns around and bashes nearly everyone that uses an OHV. Most of us are using them in a positive way to explore the beauty of the desert with the limited amount of time we have for that in our daily lives. I usually try to go out of my way to make friends, not to make enemies. I wish this issue could be easily put behind us, but I find it difficult to come up with any real, workable solutions on my own and there are many others that choose to nothing more than bitch rather than contribute to solutions.

I'm sure you're correct that a meeting of the minds at a public location, would be good for those of us that are involved here and I would be more than willing to do that, as I have tried to do in the past. If we ever do agree to a meeting, I promise to come completely unarmed and with an open mind to all ideas, as long as the same courtesy and assurance is made to me. There's no real reason we can't make the most out of all of our many years of residence in this area of the desert and use that experience to come up with workable ideas that can be taken before all of the stakeholders. If there is willingness for this meeting, someone can name the time and place and I'll make every effort to be there.

I'll be 51 years old tomorrow and will be retiring very soon, so I expect to have a lot more time to enjoy the desert before I leave for my permanent residency in Mammoth Lakes. Having suffered a Heart Attack at the age of 43 from overwork and stress, I'm ready to enjoy things more often but prefer a cooler climate for that. A bit of cool trail riding and a bunch of golf suits me well in that area. My wife has a Culinary Arts Degree and wishes to open a reataurant up there, so I guess I'll still be subordinate to her as I have been for 29 years.

Again, thank you for your well thought response. I would be eager to have a drink with you sometime or perhaps have you here for a BBQ and a swim. Take care
