Allen, I have hiked in both the Juniper Flats and the Deep Creek area alot over the years. There are those of the ORV community that clearly do not feel inclined to respect the legal riding laws for these areas. These particular riders go where ever they feel like, doing much damage to the land, and crossing other folks private property. New laws have been created to " try " and address these problems. Clearly any laws are only as effective as the realistic enforcement capabilities that go along with them. From what I have seen of your comments in this thread, if you feel a law as related to your motorcycle riding does not appeal to you, then rather than organize with people of your same sentiment, and legally seeking to try and change the law, your choice is to " rebel " in an illegal manner, and choosing to ignore the law you don't like, suggesting in a taunting manner that the Authorities will never catch you. There are folks for certain on all sides of this particular issue, always will be for sure. I attended the meeting in San Bernardino when the newest changes in the laws for our particular area were addressed. The supervisors expressed that they had never seen such a level of support for a subject in thier many years in that venue. I recall not seeing but one who talked in opposition to the new law. Where were the people of the ORV community? Why did they not take the time to present thier side of the issues? If there were valid and sensible objections to what this new ordinance proposed to change, why was the ORV community essentially absent in presenting thier position on that day. Perhaps you should have been there, speaking your mind, telling the supervisors that if this ordinance is passed, that you will then rebel, ride illegally, have Boston Tea Party, do what you can to make people " squirm ". Do you really think those kinds of sentiments are going to bring you ( and the ORV Community of riders ) respect or support for your cause?
