Hello Big Ed :-) Sounds like we took our photos at around the same time. We had seen this fire when it first started, as we were driving out of Incline Village, towards the south to have a lunch at a little secluded beach just a ways south of Sandy Point. That was around 1:30 on Sunday. We could not see the fire area at that beach. When we began our return trip back to our resort ( Tahoe Sands, in Tahoe Vista ) around 5PM we could see that the fire had really blown up with all those strong winds. I took my photo at a place in downtown Kings Beach, signed as a Vistor Center. Not much of a Vistor's Center, but it did have a beautiful area of grass and big trees, and a nice little beach. While I was there taking my photos, the fire made the top of a long ridge, and you could see the huge flames without binoculars. The fire was probably around 25 miles away. I looked at those flames with some binoculars I have ( 10X50 power ) and they looked amazingly large against the tall trees they were crowning in at the top of that ridge. Such a wonderfully scenic area up there, sad to see it burn like that.
