I posted a photo showing what the fire plume of the South Lake Tahoe Angora fire looked like as of about 6PM yesterday, as seen from the shore of the little community of Kings Beach on the north shore of lake Tahoe. Just after this photo was taken, the fire hit the top of a long ridge and you could see without binoculars huge flames coming from the crown fire as it reached the top of the ridge. Those flames must have been 200 feet high, or more. Smoky around the lake today. The winds were calm last night, with light breezes this afternoon. Last night around 11 PM I went down to the lake shore, and you could see in the brigh moonlight the smoke on the lake to the south. Can't really see whats going on with the fire today, since there's so much smoke in the air. I put the fire photo at the Wizard's pictures link below, the last photo on page 43.
