Paul, It appears from the photo sent to me by a long time DCHS visitor, that the picture he sent, taken on Memorial weekend, indicates that the graffiti offenders used spray cans for the large graffiti site upstream from DCHS. This DCHS visitor did not find any paint cans. Regarding DCV, there have not been any meetings for some time as far as I know. I am spending a significant part of my available free time hiking in other areas of Deep Creek, and else where in the desert near our home, and also have decided I want to have my trips to DCHS, to be spontaneous like before I began attending DCV meetings. I have spent many years " since 1984 " cleaning up the messes of other folks down at DCHS, and else where at Deep Creek, as well as other projects in the area, more than anyone could ever know, except for me, since many people I have come to know at DCHS, have come and gone over the years. I was just one volunteer, among many others who showed thier caring for that wonderful oasis. Ralph Maeus still maintains the website for DCV, and there are people still signing up as members, but that is for all intensive purposes just a list for possible future use, like to write letters if DCHS's clothing optional status was threatened for example. The DCV website still remains a great source of information for visitors going to DCHS, and for those specifically new to the place. Hopefully Ralph will have the means to continue to keep the site active. Perhaps some folks may decide to start up the DCV meetings at DCHS again, but it is true that getting people to come on the same day is problematic, as we found out during the last 5 or so years of DCV meetings. I will still remain a DCV member, but will be going on my hikes to Deep Creek in an un-sceduled manner. So Paul, just wanted to clarify for you, the status of DCV currently, and also my intentions as related to the situation of us having " meetings " on the last Saturday of the month in the past. I will always take care of Deep Creek when I go, treat that beautiful area with respect, leave it as I found it for others to enjoy, and clean up what trash I find in the areas where I hike, as I have for many years. I am just seeking a more spontaneous experience, when I get the precious time to hike in wonderful natural settings like Deep Creek :-)
