Hi,
I've never been a real "dog person" myself, but I have been taking
a friend's Labrador (very friendly) hiking with me a few times. She really loves it and is fun to bring along. Someday I'll be bringing her to Deep Creek, of course *I* will have a leash, rope, and keep an eye on her. I'll probably spend more time walking up/downstream than in the pools.

That's one of the reasons I carry a BIG walking stick!
Also try yelling "Bad Dog! Go Lay Down." like you own them,
they've ALL heard that before and it usually works.
If they're "friendly" dogs, I make them do tricks,
Sit, Lay Down, etc. They soon get bored and leave.

Yes, PEOPLE! Don't blame the dogs.
> They step on sunglasses, jump in the pools (which is just not sanitary or pleasant) and bark at everyone.
I don't know about "un-sanitary", dogs clean "themselves" more
than many humans do!
> People need to soak and relax, not dogs.
I think dogs can get overheated in the pools anyway.
(I'll ask on one of the dog newsgroups.)
Bye,
