The last day of winter, first day of spring was a wonderful day at the springs. While the basin was cloudy and cool, deep creek was sunny and warm. There were three cars at Bowen when we arrived. We saw no hikers on the way in. The crossing was 2 to 3 feet deep, and the pools were clean. Probably 20 people were there during the day. Three or four dogs were very well-behaved. The dogs seemed to be enjoying the area as much as the humans.
Most were non-textiled. It was one of those days when you had a pool to yourself much of the day. Green was just beginning to return to the canyon. Tufts of grass were pushing up and the trees were getting ready to bud out. The mistletoe seemed to be taking over the trees near the anniversary pool. I mourned the loss of the tree above the shower - all that is left is a stump.
We noticed a new pool since our last visit. It is luke warm and three of us jammed into it.It is located right at the stream crossing, along the path around the big outcropping of rocks. What is the name of this pool? the naming rights should probably belong to the creators. If the builders are looking for a name, I will suggest Arbor Pool. It is surrounded and covered by a thick growth of trees. It will be a wonderful soak in the summertime if you want to escape the sunshine.
