The picture was taken across Bowen Ranch Rd. from Paradise Ranch. Old Frank Kessler from Paradise drowned his classic Benz while trying to cross the Arrastre wash sometime around '92 or '93, the last great flood.
Earlier, he had told me that his Mercedes was one of only two built, the other was owned by Conrad Adenaur. The car was later diverted by neer-do-wells that fed on Frank's generosity.
The flood did a lot of damage at Summerwind Ranch, sending an automobile tire creek bank retaining wall system sailing past Paradise Ranch. They found a new home at Pete Sosa's Trailrider where there were piled to form the arena now standing along Bowen Ranch Rd.
