My guess, 1993 :-) I took some photos of the big flooding at DCHS in the winter season of 92-93. Some of those pictures are at Wizard's pictures, and under Wizard at " more hot spring pictures ". I parked in the hills not far from old route 3, hiked down a ridge into the canyon getting me to the Arch Bridge downstream from DCHS ( with Deep Creek raging just below the bridge! ), crossed the swiftly running Kinely Creek jumping from boulder to boulder, and on a few well place logs, then followed the PCT up stream to DCHS, all in heavy downpours. Then after taking photos at DCHS ( during a brief break in the clouds ), and soaking in a small pool that existed at that time, above the Aniversary pool, I then began my return journey going back the way I came. I had some difficulty re-crossing Kinely Creek in the diminishing light, and had a long, wet, hard slog back up that ridge out of the canyon again. When I got back to my truck, I got back into the shell of my truck, and fired up a warm can of Cambells Chicken soup, and then went to sleep :-)
