First off I just wanna say how great I think it is to see such an involved, friendly and helpful community! I love how this forum has been setup to share thoughts, ideas, feelings but also to help newbies like me make the most of my experience @ the hot springs. So I hope to take advantage with a few questions since I plan on visiting next week for the 1st time!
1. Bowen Ranch Road. Is it in decent shape this time of year? Will I most likely be OK in my AWD sedan style car?
2. Camping. I understand camping is allowed up @ the ranch. Is it completely primitive? Are fires allowed?
3. HIking. Is 'free' hiking possible on the trail? Or is nudity saved for the hot springs only?
4. Dry Creek. Besides the hot springs pools, is there more interesting stuff to explore down in the canyon? Like to hike up/down from springs?
5. Weather. Forecast says mid-60s for Apple Valley, is it warmer/cooler down at the springs?
