Dr. Hedlund didn't ask us. We know that the organism he discovered is the Wizardecium, a single-celled lifeform often observed without exterior cover, only dangling cilia visible. The Wizardecium lives on warm conversation and a subatance calld "Boxcar Wine,"a fluid often observed in the vicinity of this protozoan at Deep Creek Hot Springs in Southern California.
Another single celled organism found in hot springs, especially in the western US, is the Jobeamoeba. Although this critter gives you the impression that it mates often, reality suggests that Jobeamoeba is rarely successful at coupling.
