Hello Paul :-) So your recent experience also supports what I was told, that our local ocean waters are running at very high, abnormal temps. In the recently released Al Gore Global Warming documentary, he illustrates on a very large, stage long screen, during one of his presentations, the correlation of how C02 gases have without question, dramatically increased, compared to recent geologic times, off the scale of thier normal levels, since the time that humanity began to excessively burn hydrocarbon fuels for energy. And when I say " off the scales ", the demonstration in the form of line graphs was utterly dramatic in scope. With the prospect of imminent declines in oil and gas supplies worldwide, countries will be turning to other sources to create electrical power, and coal will be used more and more, in a huge quantities. These coal powered electrical production facilities, will because of thier excessive production of CO2, go far beyond any losses of C02 we will have due to decreased natural gas use for producing electricity, and the decrease in output from demand destruction due to ever more expensive, and scarce oil supplies. If we stopped altogether producing greenhouse gases now, there is already built into the system because of previously produced CO2 untold decades of increased warming. However of course, this is not a prospect, in fact as we all know, its business as usual, and production of these gases by our activities is only increasing, day by day, year by year. There will be fluctuations in day to day weather, on any given part of the globe, but the general trend, shows very clearly, the earth is warming fast, and the segement of this warming that humans are responsible for, is by consensus of todays leading scientist, is indeed, a large part of the whole. I just saw a global warming commercial this evening on CNN, one that I had heard was going to be out soon, it shows a train track, with a man standing on it, with a large train behind him, barreling towards him. He says something akin to the idea that global warming may be a problem, but it won't affect his life, he steps off the tracks to saftey, and behind him on the same tracks is a little girl, the commercial ends, with the train about to hit the little girl. Excellent point. But as things have develped in the last five years regarding new information on global warming, and its current repercussions around the world, that man in the commercial may be very wrong, in that, he will be affected too. Will humanity alter its dire course in time to preserve our biosphere in a condition, that future generations will be able to live with, and appreciate, as we have?
