On the positive side, the experts on the show indicated that it's still fixable at this point. They kept referring to a "soft landing", essentially meaning that if we can slow the current accelerated rate of global warming, we can prevent some of the potential dire consequences from C02 emissions and melting polar ice. But typically if the American "public" is not directly affected by the problem, they don't consider it a problem. Like Wizard said, they'd rather see Johnny Depp and some cheap, mindless entertainment!
