A winter of decent rain and snowfall did more than ease the drought. It also made for one of the best waterfall-viewing seasons in years.

"The last two years weren't good, but this year is a really good waterfall-hunting season," said Julie Xieu, who runs WorldofWaterfalls.com and co-wrote a book on the subject.

Though the Inland region may lack a Niagara or a Yosemite, it does boast the two tallest waterfalls in Southern California -- in Forest Falls and Lytle Creek -- and numerous viewing spots that are easily accessible by foot.
