Sounds like you had quite the Baja experience. I would love to check out San Felipe and that area. That's my next goal for exploring down there. And your lobster story sounds very typical from what I've heard. I talked to a guy who traded beer for fresh lobster out of the lobster traps! I did hear about a hot spring that was only exposed during low tide, and all the locals would show up as soon as that happened, even if it was at 2am! Maybe that's the same one that you went too. I don't think there's actually all that many hot springs down there like there are up here in Alta California, and Mexican culture seems quite conservative, so the clothing optional route is a little more difficult. The hot springs I went to were off Laguna Salada in the Sierra Juarez range. DCR, feel free to email me and I can send you the directions. Anyway, we have plenty of pleasant soaks here, and quite possibly I will be heading back to Deep Creek for a day or two over Presidents Day. I'm hoping the Creek won't be too high at that point, but I'll keep 173 in mind! Thanks for the info on it.
