Come with the Wizard and take a tour of a place so magical that it must surely convince you that, OZ does exist! Its my birthday today, and never mind how many years I've been on this sphere floating around in infinity, when I look at these pictues I feel the thrill of a young child enjoying snow for the first time. These pictures are my gift to you, all of you who love DCHS as I do :-) I took 36 pictures and did not include two of them. You can veiw the 34 pictures of my trip to DCHS in the snow by using the link " Wizards pictures " at the bottom of this forum page and these pictures are on pages 10 through 13. The first three pictures on page 10 were taken last weekend at a place called Rainbow Basin. It is an amazing geologic place with many textures and colors in the landscape and I recommend it highly as a place to visit. It is just north of Barstow on a great dirt road that takes off of Fort Irwin road. You can get directions at the California Visitors Center which is in the lenwood outlet stores area right next to the 15 freeway just south of Barstow. I did include one slightly blurred picture ( EE ) which was taken on my hike out from the springs. It looks down the Deep Creek canyon at a golden glow shinning over the edge of Mt. Baldy in the distance. It was a fantastic veiw in those last rays of the day and I wanted you to see what it looked like even if it was a bit blurred. In transferring the pictures to the Wizard site they lose a bit of crispness but I have little doubt that it will keep you from enjoying these magical images of OZ :-)
