Had a great day soaking this last Thursday. Not too crowded. The creek crossing was easy to ford -waist to chest deep. The rope is still across the creek as is Wizards' raft in the shady spot.
The pools were all in excellent condition. We put the waterfall piping/hoses back together and it flowed nicely all day. Because of the heat, we spent an equal amount of time in the creek as well as the pools. Saw lots of jackrabbits on Bowen Ranch Road. Saw a small rattler near where Wizards' raft was. There is a nice little birds nest in the rocks between the Womb and the waterfall just above the creek. We picked up some trash- packed out just a small bag. Noticed there were no DCV brochures in the box at the trailhead. Anyone know the story about the white and orange beat up Suburban parked on that steep little hill near the beginning of the SB Forest trail? Overall, an excellent day at Deep Creek.
