Supervisors catering to ORV lobby

For three years relative peace and quiet have reigned in many rural neighborhoods. Although occasional incursions by illegal off-road vehicles still happen, the rate is way down. That reduction, many of my neighbors believe, is due to a San Bernardino County code that has reined in illegal activity on ORVs.
That code was forged by off-road recreationalists who wanted to continue to drive with abandon and residents who wanted peace, quiet and lawful ORV behavior in their neighborhoods. The code was forged in a process of open government where representatives of both sides met with code enforcement officials and worked that compromise into a mutually agreeable form. The Board of Supervisors then approved that compromise. Today, we call that compromise Ordinance 3973. ....
