Trip Report March 3

Went down to the springs on Wednesday coming down from Bowen. I arrived at about 7:30 and found a couple of guys who had been dropped off by their family and they were debating how to cross the creek. The creek is above the Serenity Pool and is a fairly strong flow toward the far side. The sand bar which was there last month has disappeared except against the spring's side. The overall effect is if you try the regular crossing area you will be in deep water but if you go down stream 50 feet where the boulders are in the creek you will only be chest high. The crab cooker still has the sand bags and so it a nice hot pool. The restored wall of the Womb makes it slightly deeper and as such more comfortable this time of year. Spent the day soaking in the Womb watching the 2 guys trying to decide how to cross. At lunch I went back across to see if they needed help crossing. They told me their ride would be waiting for them at the top of the Bradley Trail so they did need to cross. Showed them again how I cross and after a while one of them made it with his pack.

Around 1:30 it was time to look around for trash and it was really in fairly good shape. A group of 5 couples came down and a few others, all after 12:30. All were textile.
Trail was still fairly wet from the weekend. The bikes running the trails have created some erosion. This is especially so on the last part of the goat trail below the saddle.
