A thoughtful, and relevant post Jobe. Good points. We may all, sooner than we wish, have to adjust ourselves to the declining amenities of the good life we have enjoyed, because of increasingly scarce energy resources. Humanity has prospered much in the last two centuries, utilizing the highly concentrated energy forms of oil and natural gas, representing in reality, many eons of the sun's stored energy. Last night in a dream, I saw a mushroom cloud go off in the distance. I could see a devastating, roiling cloud of dust headed in my direction. A long time friend next to me, ran off in fright. I thought to myself, this is it, there is nowhere to hide. Then next to me was my truck, and I thought that I might get inside it, so that I could breathe the air within it for awhile when the shockwave came to me. It was then that I considered that perhaps I could outrun the shockwave in my vehicle. So what does this dream represent? Dreams are curious and fascinating features of the minds finer workings. Perhaps the Mushroom cloud illustrates my waking world concerns over these dire challenges for humanity that seem to be inevitable, unavoidable. An example of my unconscious, yet still active mind, dealing with the input of a great external, perceived threat. The dream process, catagorizing, organizing, morphing our essence, and molding the mind, enabling our ability to cope with the challenges of waking world realities. We will all do what we can to find our own unique way, define for ourselves what course we should take, as these tumultuous worldwide events, unfold over time.
