I did a hike to the springs yesterday. The weather was perfect! Got down there around 11AM. Talked first off with regulars Naked Man and Rick. I think I remember Naked Man saying he had measured the creek temp at 54 degrees. Some people were taking dips in the cold creek but mostly they soaked in the hotpools and sunbathed. Naked Man also said near the end of the day that he had counted 65 visitors at one point in the day. Spent some time sunning at first, then did a round of trash pickup after that. Lazed around in the shade of a Sycamore tree near the Aniversary Pool for a while watching the people. Later on spotted Jobe soaking in the Aniversary Pool and chatted with him for a time. I finally hiked out around 5PM. Beautiful day down there with the warmer weather bringing out lots of visitors. I should have taken some photos but I didn't get around to it. Next time I'll remember :-) I didn't run into any cattle or signs of them on the hike in or out and I think there gone for the summer. The blue sailboat is still sitting next to the Freedom Trail. I always enjoy the scenery of all the giant rock formations in the Juniper Flats/Arrastre Canyon/ and surrounding areas in the late day light of the sun. Interesting shadows and great colors with a golden hue to the sunlight :-)
