WIZ, we had lots of sunshine in Las Vegas today, also. I visited Arizona Hot Springs from 9:30am 'til 3:45pm today. High temp was only 50 degrees with strong winds, but there wasn't even a wisp of a cloud in deep blue sky all day! In the shelter of the canyon I lounged in the warm sun for a couple of hours and got plenty of soak time in the hot pools.
It was a quiet day--only 5 visitors, including myself. The second visitor showed up a couple of hours after I did; a guy who moved to Vegas within the year, and is becoming a hot spring regular. Around 1pm, a couple from the San Francisco Bay area showed up. About the time I got my hiking shoes on to begin the trek back, another guy showed up solo; he was camping there for the night. When I got to the trailhead at 4:30, I met a couple just setting out for the trip down to the springs. I advised against it, since they were unfamiliar with the trail and it would be dark before they got there, but they decided to go anyway....wonder if they found the springs in the dark (most first-time visitors lose the trail along the river in the daytime).
