FLOOD STATEMENT

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN DIEGO CA
550 PM PST MON FEB 27 2006

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY
FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1200 AM PST
TUESDAY EVENING FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS
IN CALIFORNIA

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE
COUNTY VALLEYS -THE INLAND EMPIRE...SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND
FOOTHILLS...ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY
MOUNTAINS

INCLUDING...BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS
LAGUNA NIGUEL...GARDEN GROVE...YORBA LINDA...SANTIAGO
PEAK...MISSION VIEJO...SANTA ROSA
PLATEAU...HEMET...BANNING...RIVERSIDE...SAN
BERNARDINO...WRIGHTWOOD...BIG BEAR LAKE AND FOREST FALLS.

AT 530 PM PST WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED MODERATE TO
HEAVY RAIN MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. THE RAIN WAS MOVING RAPIDLY TO
THE NORTHEAST AT NEARLY 40 MPH AND MORE RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
UP FROM THE SOUTHWEST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS
AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS
AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.
