I also spoke to Susan Lawson. She said that she had heard about the area and thought the area was dangerous. That she wouldn't want her kids to be up there. That the area is known to the younger crowd as the place to party.

I told her that the area is environmentally sensitive, does not have any bathroom facilities, and is isolated. That she should be careful about encouraging the younger crowd to party up there.

I advised her that Deep Creek is on Forest Land and that the Forest Service is currently updating their management plan in consideration of the endangered species. That their newspaper should do a story from the environmental standpoint.

I have mentioned before, the community has opinions about Deep Creek also and not all of them are positive.
