Deadman's curve filtered out a vehicle that was observed heading northbound on Bowen Ranch Rd. at an excessive rate of speed. The female driver made it through the first curve, but the small car left roadway on the second. No word on the extent of injury, but it was reported that she may have gone through the windshield. A cluster of Good Samaritan's were quickly on-site to give assistance.

A number of OHV's were observed on the roadway at that location just prior to the accident. Luckily no one else was hurt. Green sticker vehicles are not supposed to use Bowen Ranch Rd, but lots of kids are out there on quads etc. This accident could have had much worse consequences.

Two speeding compact trucks hit my elder Dodge PowerWagon in rapid succession several years ago at this very same spot. Loose decomposed granite will put you on the wrong side of the road and into the path of an oncoming vehicle very quickly. In this case, the driver was lucky that only the ditch arrested her forward motion.
