.A COLD PACIFIC STORM WILL LIKELY BRING SNOWFALL TO THE
MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND. STEADY
PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO AFFECT
THE MOUNTAINS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES LATE SATURDAY
MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT...A COLD
AND UNSTABLE AIR MASS WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS
AND LOCALLY HEAVY SHOWERS TO THE WATCH AREA. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR ABOVE 6000 FEET...WHERE 6 TO 12
INCHES IS POSSIBLE. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT...SNOW LEVELS ARE
EXPECTED TO LOWER RAPIDLY SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING...
FALLING AS LOW AS 3500 FEET ON NORTH FACING SLOPES AND 4500 FEET
ON SOUTH FACING SLOPES. A FEW INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL BE

SNOWFALL COULD BEGIN ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF VENTURA COUNTY
AS EARLY AS MID MORNING SATURDAY...SPREADING EASTWARD INTO THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS LATE SATURDAY MORNING OR AFTERNOON. SNOW
LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BEGIN AROUND 6000 FEET WITH THE ONSET OF THE
PRECIPITATION. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT...SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO
LOWER RAPIDLY SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING...FALLING AS LOW AS

500 FEET ON NORTH FACING SLOPES AND 4500 FEET ON SOUTH FACING
SLOPES. THE HIGHEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR ABOVE
6000 FEET...WHERE THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR 6 TO 12 INCHES OF
SNOW. THE LOWER ELEVATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE LESS THAN
6 INCHES OF SNOW.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR A COMBINATION OF
SIGNIFICANT SNOW...GUSTY WINDS AND DENSE FOG THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.

INTO THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MOUNTAINS DURING THE WATCH PERIOD
