http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/business/?id=15066 ...... Multinationals, not Iraqis, to reap oil fortune............LONDON - Up to 194 billion dollars in Iraqi oil revenues ARE GOING to multinational oil companies under long-term contracts, and NOT TO the Iraqi people..........Louise Richards, chief executive of aid charity War on Want, said: "People have increasingly come to realise that the Iraq war was about oil, profits, and plunder..........."Iraq's oil profits, far from being used to alleviate some of the suffering the Iraqi people now face, are well within the sights of the oil multinationals." ............
"But with the active involvement of the US and British governments, a group of powerful Iraqi politicians and technocrats is pushing for a system of long-term contracts with foreign oil companies which will be BEYOND THE REACH OF IRAQI COURTS, PUBLIC SCRUTINY, OR, DEMOCRATIC CONTROL."................ Remember back when Bush, Cheney, and Rice were pictching the need for this war, they indicated, that once Saddam was defeated, IRAQ'S bountiful oil wealth would be used for the benifit of the IRAQI people, and for paying for our nation's cost for the war. A WONDERFUL win, win for everbody! Remember that! But the reality will be, multinational's making huge profits on another countries resources, along with untold amounts of lucrative " no bid " contracts for Bushes big corporate pals, to rebuild what has been destroyed by the war itself. A free for all of fraudulent activity, far away from the US, and the eyes of the American public, so they can do as they wish. So the multinationals rake in the HUGE profits, the Iraqis get screwed with an occupation, thier country gets beat to a pulp, and the American public ( you and I ) get to pay for the cost of the war destruction, and for the laughable, supposed, overpriced, rebuilding efforts by companies cozy with the administration. And rest assurred, we are there, in Iraq, because they have the SECOND LARGEST oil reserves of any country in the world. Of course we are also GREAT PALS with the Saudi's! Is it because we love thier people so much, thier culture? No, we love their OIL, they being KING OF THE HILL, number 1 in " stated " oil reserves.
