...THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY...

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED ABOUT 300 MILES WEST
SOUTHWEST OF POINT CONCEPTION THIS EVENING CONTINUED TO MOVE VERY
SLOWLY EASTWARD TOWARD THE COASTAL WATERS. THIS SYSTEM WILL BECOME
NEARLY STATIONARY ACROSS THE OUTER COASTAL WATERS WEDNESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...THEN TRACK SOUTHEASTWARD THURSDAY AND THURSDAY
NIGHT...CROSSING INTO NORTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA FRIDAY. ABUNDANT
MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING SHOWERS TO THE
COASTAL WATERS...WHILE INCREASING INSTABILITY NEAR AND TO THE EAST
OF THE UPPER CENTER WILL CAUSE THE THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS TO
INCREASE.

THE BEST CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT WILL BE ACROSS THE OUTER
WATERS...AND THE WATERS NORTH OF POINT CONCEPTION. THEN...THERE IS A
CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE ENTIRE COASTAL WATERS LATE
TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP HAVE THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 35 KNOTS...ROUGH AND
CHAOTIC SEAS...SMALL HAIL...AND POSSIBLY EVEN WATERSPOUTS. IN
ADDITION... FREQUENT LIGHTNING IS ALWAYS A DANGER WHEN ON THE
WATERS...AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS CAN QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO
LESS THAN A HALF MILE.

BOATERS ARE URGED TO KEEP AWARE OF THE LATEST WEATHER UPDATES ON
NOAA WEATHER RADIO.
