San Bernardino County Sun Whether it's whipping along a homemade race track or gunning a dune buggy over desert trails, Jon Perry and his teenage son bond over off-roading shenanigans.

But the hours of father-son time and freedom to ride may disappear quicker than an off-roader bouncing along forest trails if San Bernardino and Riverside counties are successful in restricting those activities.

San Bernardino and Riverside counties are wrestling with ordinances that would decide the who, where, when and how of off-roading activity.
As the number of off-roaders continues to multiply, the places for them to rove are being subtracted which adds up to a melee among riders, environmentalists and landowners..........................
