I'll have to agree that the Bowen Ranch route is the simpliest, with one added driving direction:
Once you're on Bowen Ranch Road, continue on, despite the tempting forks in the road, like the Oak Springs turnoff to the left about 2 or 3 miles up. Just keep going 'straight', staying on the main road.
You'll know you're still on track at about 4 miles when you cross a cattle guard. Keep going another 3+ miles to the "Welcome to Bowen Ranch" sign. You'll see Mike's cabin soon.
BTW, I've had nothing but good exchanges with Mike. He's been friendly, fair, and takes care of my car while parked on his property.
