With fire season over, BLM lifts some campfire restrictions
This story appeared in the Antelope Valley Press on Sunday, November 6, 2005.

Campfire restrictions on all Bureau of Land Management-managed public lands within the California Desert Conservation Area in Southern California have been lifted, according to BLM officials.

The lifting of the restrictions became effective on Oct. 29.

"Because we have declared our fire season over, the public will not be required to obtain a campfire permit throughout the CDCA," said Robert Roudabush, acting California Desert District manager.

"However, campers still are required to provide proper clearance of flammable fuels to a minimum of five feet and to have a shovel or other extinguishing tools readily available," he said...........
