...NEAR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES INLAND AGAIN THURSDAY...

...CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS THURSDAY
AND FRIDAY...

STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHWEST WILL RESULT IN
NEAR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES AGAIN THURSDAY IN SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA...MAINLY IN THE INLAND AREAS. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO REACH THE 90S TO NEAR 103 IN THE MOUNTAINS AND MOST SAN
DIEGO COUNTY VALLEYS...UPPER 90S TO 107 IN THE INLAND EMPIRE...104
TO 112 IN THE HIGH DESERTS AND 110 TO 118 IN THE LOWER DESERTS. IN
CONTRAST...AREAS NEAR THE IMMEDIATE COAST WILL BE MILD DUE TO THE
MARINE LAYER AND HIGHS WILL BE MOSTLY IN THE 70S TO LOWER 80S WITHIN
A FEW MILES OF THE COAST. HOWEVER...THE INLAND COASTAL AREAS OF
ORANGE COUNTY WILL BE IN THE 90S.

TRY TO AVOID STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITY MIDDAY DURING THIS HOT
WEATHER. IF YOU HAVE TO BE OUTSIDE...AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE AND
DRINK PLENTY OF NON-ALCOHOLIC...NON-CAFFEINATED FLUIDS. WEAR
LIGHTWEIGHT...LIGHT-COLORED...LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING. WEAR A HAT TO
SHIELD YOURSELF FROM THE SUN...AND USE SUN SCREEN TO REDUCE POSSIBLE
SUNBURN. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AIR CONDITIONING AND SHADE IF POSSIBLE.
NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS IN ENCLOSED VEHICLES...EVEN BRIEFLY.

MOISTURE WILL MOVE NORTHWEST FROM MEXICO THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
AND BRING A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE AFTERNOONS TO THE
MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS. LIGHTNING...EVEN IN SOME AREAS THAT REMAIN
DRY...AND LOCAL STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN THREATS FROM THE
THUNDERSTORMS AND WILL INCREASE THE FIRE HAZARD.

IT WILL BECOME SLIGHTLY COOLER TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK AS THE
HIGH WEAKENS...HOWEVER IT WILL STILL BE HOT INLAND. THE THUNDERSTORM
THREAT WILL LIKELY END BY THE WEEKEND AS DRIER FLOW DEVELOPS ALOFT.
