Rumor has it that we're in for another gullywasher starting tonight. Last nights weather was clear and cold with no wind making for a very quiet night. The woodstove was blazing with some hardwood in an attempt to drive the cold air away. Low temps were just below freezing. This morning, the winds started to pick up and the clouds are rolling in. No rain yet , but it feels like more is on the way. Snow level has been hanging around 5000' but it could drop a little with this next storm.
The earth is pretty well saturated and muddy which means there is potential for lots of runnoff if it rains heavy. Bowen Ranch Road remains open for regular cars but its pretty bumpy. None of my neighbors in the Village have been soaking lately due to the high water in the canyon so I have no report on the springs. Maybe someone else has ventured down there and can report to all of the inquiring minds here at the Deep Creek Phorum. Happy New Year and stay warm.
