Place to stay - sort of nearby?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, though I've had the pleasure of visiting the glorious Deep Creek maybe once a year for about 15 years now. Thank you to all who keep it such a wonderful place.

I'm hoping to visit for my birthday, and bring a handful of friends who have yet to experience the magic of Deep Creek. It's a few hours drive for us, so I'd love to at least spend a night in the area, and am wondering if anyone on this list might suggest a place to stay. It's a pretty special weekend for us, so although we could camp, I'm envisioning a cabin with a fireplace, where we could all get cozy. Or a house of some sort. Something other than a motel. It would be great if it felt homey. The price doesn't have to be rock bottom, though bargains are always welcome.

Does anything like this exist in Apple Valley, Hesperia, or somewhere close by? Maybe someone you know has a guest house they might rent out for a night? If you've got ideas or leads, I'd be really grateful.
