Besides public interest groups, residents in affected areas need to have a say. Coordinated field reviews that bring BLM officials and residents/public interest groups together are essential. Signage and fencing should be discussed prior to allowing any ORV activity. I realize this is idealistic and not always realistic, but panning for multiple uses early in the planning process really helps down the line later. However, THE ORV lobbyists have an incredible amount of pull and strong political ties.
