As I was getting my shoes on to leave DCHS on Monday, in the rocks by the stream across from the Crab Cooker, I noticed that there is a small Tamerisk tree growing. They are a non indigenous invasive species and in many desert environments have proliferated rapidly, causing problems. I would think that the USFS would want this tamerisk removed, for similiar concerns as the Scottish Broom that was removed last year. It is a very small tamerisk so its removal should be fairly easy. These trees grow like Crabgrass and once established are basically immpossible to erradicate so its best to get rid of this one before it has a chance to spread. I'm sure one of us DCV members can get this done fairly soon.
