Interstate 15 Major Improvements from the Cajon Pass to State Route 58 north of Barstow

Completed

A northbound truck climbing lane in the Cajon Pass from State Route 138 to Oak Hill Road.
This 7.3-mile project cost $6.4 Million, was started in April 2003 and completed in May 2004.
Funding: STIP, TEA21.

To Be Completed

1) Add mixed flow lanes in both directions between Mojave Drive and the junction of SR 58;
add southbound auxiliary lane between D Street and Mojave Drive, rehab pavement northbound
between Stoddard Wells Road and Dale Evans Parkway. This 28.7-mile, $120 Million project
started in the spring of 2002 and is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2005.
Funding: STIP, SHOPP, LLP, DEMO (State of California and State of Nevada).

2) Reconstruct the Main Street interchange in Hesperia, and widen the overcrossing to six lanes.
This $9.5 Million project started in September 2003 and is scheduled to be complete in spring 2005.
Funding: STIP, TEA21, City of Hesperia.

3) At the Mojave Drive overcrossing in Victorville, reconstruct the interchange, including bridge
widening and signal installation. This $3.7 Million project is scheduled to start in the fall of 2005
and be complete in the fall of 2007.
Funding: MINOR A, ISTEA, City of Victorville.

4) In Victorville from State Route 18 to north of the Mojave Drive overcrossing, upgrade median
barrier and pave median. This 2.6-mile, $3.5 Million project is scheduled to start in
winter 2007 and be complete in summer 2007.
Funding: SHOPP.

5) In Victorville from just north of the Mojave Drive interchange to Stoddard Wells Road,
add a northbound mixed flow lane with an auxiliary lane, and reconstruct the D and E street
interchanges and the Stoddard Wells Road interchange. This 3.5-mile, $63.6 Million project
is scheduled to start in the winter of 2008 and be complete in the summer of 2010.
Funding: STIP, LLP.
