Weekly report submitted

The Friends of Juniper Flats submitted another weekly report of illegal OHV activity within the Juniper Flats sub region today. As our membership grows, so does the diversity of recreational users that encompasses our group. Many are local property owners and residents. Others are recreational users from outside the desert area. A lot of us enjoy the activity of exploring the area in off highway vehicles. We encourage the public to enjoy Juniper Flats in a responsible way in conformance with existing laws and regulations. Our group in no way supports closing areas off to public access. We support responsible use that does not destroy our national resource. The Friends of Juniper Flats encourage all user groups to participate as stewards of our public lands and are open to all who wish to join us.

We sent another report to the BLM today. In our journeys, we recently observed hang gliders, rock climbers, motorcyclists, 4x4 touring clubs, hikers, hotspringers,equestrian groups, birdwatchers, hunters, rockhounds and even some dude studying ants; all enjoying the beauty of Juniper Flats in a legal and non destructive way. This is what we support. I just want to thank all of the other floks here that have given our group support. What we do now can have a huge impact on the future of Juniper Flats and Deep Creek. As the population grows, so does the use of the area. We are calling on the BLM to manage the public lands in a responsible way.
