Arizona Mike Rocks

While digging through my documentation in preparation of the WEMO comment letter, I found this e mail from Arizona Mike 2/23/2004 11:13:05 pst


"Last saturday while visiting Paul and Ann, I took some time to revisit Mike Castro / Bowen Ranch again. He told me one lie after another about the ACEC and route J1299. He is going to remain non compliant with continuing to ride this closed route and claims he'll armed with his gun. Anyone getting in his way or blocking j1299 will either be run down or shot at. He stands firm on remaining to ride this illegal closed route. There's no changing him to think any differently now. He refused to believe that the ACEC is a cultural site and that J1299 has been open and ridden on for 30 years +.

Just one lie after another. I find being able to change his mind is hopeless and i no longer have any intentions to speak with him any further. He'll remain non compliant and is telling his OHV buddies to be non compliant as well. Mike has also indicated to me that he may sell his property (Bowen Ranch 80-acres) but not before setting the place on fire and erasing all his own roads from within his property boundries and then fencing off the entrance(tollgate). Maybe ours efforts are working and Mike will leave the mountain and he can take Barry Nelson with him as well when and if he leaves. Time for a change. ............Arizona Mike."
