I have to agree with Katrina on the flagrant violations of the law by Barstow BLM officials. In no way do I oppose public use of public lands but the ACEC was created with a specific vision and certain individuals have abused their powers to create a motorcycle trail through the heart of the cultural area. This trail now is within 7 feet of a pre columbian rock shelter and the Cottonwood Springs really should be preserved from OHV abuse. This special place provides an excellent opportunity for the BLM to educate the public about our pre-columbian history. The J1299 route network would provide an excellent non motorized access route for pedestrians and equestrian use of this area. Motorcycle riders could actually park their machines and walk in to experience what this place was like 2000 years ago when Village life flourished there. Its too bad we have rouge elements serving as public servents.
