The good news is the Deep Creek area has not been affected by this catastrophy other than the USFS lands being closed. Locals are keeping a watchful eye on the area and anyone suspected of arson will be wrapped up in barbed wire to await arrest by law enforcement.
The bad news is if the winds shift, Crestline, Running Springs and Lake Arrowhead will go up like a torch with all of the dry timber. There will be no stopping it. The Feds are throwing all kinds of resources at these blazes as the situation has reached critical mass.
