Bighorn Sheep

Evidence of a Bighorn sheep was reported recently by a local resident who found tracks and dung while hiking in Arrastre Canyon. The evidence was confirmed by another local resident who is a wildlife biologist. There is a small resident population a few miles to the east of this location in the area of White Mountain. This indicates that although the numbers of these animals are very small, the range has expanded somewhat due to increased forage availability.
