Hello Serenitynow :-) I saw the new fruit trees and figured that the Tree Man had planted them since he has planted many others around DCHS. Sorry for the confusion. Jobe and Laughing Bear are correct in telling you that the USFS have indicated that they don't want to see any more non idigenous plants introduced at DCHS, and in the forest area in general. They had specifically discussed this with DCV members. I understand your interest in wanting to add new trees to the area, but the rangers who come to DCHS in the summer months may decide that the recently planted fruit trees will have to be removed. The USFS did seem open to planting of some indigenous tree types, if coordinated with thier personel. Regarding DCV ( Deep Creek Volunteers ) and the recent BLM desert plan, those of us who can make it to the monthly meetings are generally few in numbers, so our focus, given our limited time and people available, has been to help in what way we can the environment around DCHS. The problems related to the new BLM desert plan is unfortunate, but I don't think any members of DCV will want to take on the task of filing a suit against the BLM. I think however there are alot of other people, and groups, more affected by the recent BLM actions, that will be pursueing such a course.
