Wizard is correct. The road mentioned was a real challenge of timeing, balance, instincts, coordination, and faith. It was a good thing mine were well refined or I would have been stuck or hurt. I took my motorcycle down there once and learned my lesson. Another time I took my Bronco II and broke the 4 wheel drive axel. But, only on the 4th try. It was a terrific thrill in my Bronco II.
I did not mean to endorse the closure of Moss Mill Rd. It self was probably a historic route created by native Americans. By there need for the water at the springs there. Also, we the public aquired a 160 acre parcel of land there in a trade between BLM and Arco Los Flores. The public deserves the right to access our property there. The property is near the juction of 3n59 and Moss Mill rd. That is the mission of the BLM as required by congress. That road is engrained in the fabric of many peoples lifes, real and imagined.
I DO admit, that when that road was erased by Castro I wanted very badly to kick his but. It was a situation where prayer was very helpful.
If the BLM were to put an information kiosk there, on that 160 acre parcel, access to the deep creek area would be much less confusing, more direct and shorter. Also the information would be helpful to let the public know of the challenges in the area.
Due to the lack of trust in the BLM, it should be proposed by us the public, to divert this area to the control of the USFS. Does that sound like a viable solution to our problem?
